Ben started with us in the infant room at OCCS in October of 2014. He loves working at OCCS because he feels that there is an openness, honesty and understanding of the board and management. He enjoys the way the centre is set up to easily help children transition as they grow and it sets them up to succeed. His favourite thing about being an educator is building honest, open and trusting relationships with children and their families by creating environments that are comforting and stimulating. He feels that this encourages children to grow by engaging their sense of wonder and challenging them to develop new skills. In his spare time he loves going for walks with his wife and god, read books, watch movies and play video games. His favourite children’s books are The Dangerous Alphabet by Neil Gaiman, Instructions by Neil Gaiman and Clark the Shark by Bruce Hale. Something you may not know about Ben is that he is the first person in his family to be born in Canada!
